Open House Austin

Buying a home could look a little different.

I co-founded Open House Austin to help people explore more creative ways to buy a home—and find people to figure it out with.

As CMO, I led brand and marketing and managed a Marketing Manager and Events Coordinator. We grew our TikTok audience to 200K, hosted a weekly podcast, and turned our office into a community hub—giving people a reason to get to know us before they needed an agent.

“Buy Houses With Friends” was one of the ideas I brought to life along the way.

An office that became a campaign.

We co-bought a vacant building in East Austin and turned it into our office, an event space, and a place for people to get to know Open House Austin.

We called it “office-hacking.” Renting space to food trucks helped cover the mortgage and saved us on office rent. Opening the space for workshops, local businesses, and community events gave people a reason to come by.

The renovation became a story I could write about, a real example of the ideas we taught, and a way to introduce our business to the neighborhood. It also earned coverage in CultureMap.
